Job summary

Mayplace Primary School is seeking a dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to support the Nursery Teacher in an Early Years setting. You will help deliver the EYFS curriculum, run engaging play-based activities, and support children with routines and wellbeing.

We welcome applicants with Level 2/3 in Early Years or equivalent, and experience with young children. A patient, warm approach and strong communication are essential, with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

A relevant childcare or education qualification (e.g. Level 2 / 3 in Early Years or equivalent).
Experience working with children in the Early Years age range.
A genuine passion for early childhood development.
Patience, warmth, and excellent communication skills.
A team player who is reliable, flexible, and proactive.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

Supporting the delivery of the EYFS curriculum.
Helping to plan and deliver engaging play-based activities.
Supervising and supporting children during learning, play, and routines (including care needs such as toileting and feeding).
Observing and recording children's progress and development.
Building positive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
