Job summary

South Hampshire College Group is seeking an experienced Early Years Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across Early Years programmes, with a focus on Levels 1 and 2. You will plan, prepare and assess activities that motivate learners and provide pastoral support as a Personal Tutor.

You will contribute to curriculum planning, work placements, assessment feedback and quality improvements, and may step in as Course Leader for designated programmes as required.

Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Education or a related subject.
  • Industry experience within an Early Years or Childcare setting.
  • Knowledge of current Early Years practice, legislation and industry developments.
  • Teaching experience within Further Education, schools, training environments or a willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
  • A passion for supporting learners and helping them achieve their goals.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to inspire, engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Early Years programmes, with a focus on Levels 1 and 2.

  • Support learners through regular assessment, feedback and progress reviews.
  • Ensure students understand programme expectations and are supported throughout their studies.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, course evaluation and quality improvement activities.
  • Act as Course Leader for designated programmes, overseeing assessment and awarding body compliance.
  • Monitor attendance and learner progress, implementing interventions where necessary.
  • Build relationships with employers, schools, nurseries and industry partners.
  • Participate in open events, careers fairs and recruitment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching practices and outstanding learner experiences.

  • Ensure students understand programme expectations and are fully supported throughout their studies.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, course evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Act as Course Leader for designated programmes where required, overseeing assessment, quality assurance and awarding body compliance.
  • Monitor attendance, achievement and learner progress, implementing interventions where necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, schools, nurseries and industry partners.
  • Participate in open events, careers fairs, parents' evenings and recruitment activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative teaching practices and outstanding learner experiences.
