Job summary

Morgan Hunt is delighted to be working with a leading Further Education college in Peterborough to recruit an experienced Early Years Lecturer on a temporary basis. This role will involve teaching Early Years courses from Levels 1 to 4, planning engaging lessons, and providing timely feedback to support learner achievement.

The post offers 37 hours per week, a salary of £30–£35 per hour, and opportunities to contribute to curriculum development within a supportive FE environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or a related subject.
• Level 5 teaching qualification, or commitment to achieve within three years.
• Assessor qualification such as A1, TQA or CAVA.
• Minimum Level 2 English and Maths.
• Recent and relevant industry experience within Early Years.
• Strong understanding of curriculum frameworks and current sector developments.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to support learners with different abilities and learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess Early Years courses from Levels 1 to 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in line with college standards.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support learner achievement.
• Develop and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans and course materials.
• Carry out internal verification duties in line with awarding body requirements.
• Support learners through academic tutorials and personal development.
• Work with employers to arrange and monitor student work placements.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
• Participate in open events, interviews and learner recruitment activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and assess Early Years courses from Levels 1 to 4.
