Job summary

Hopscotch Day Nurseries Ltd is seeking an experienced Early Years Lead Practitioner to support and develop teaching, learning and care across the nursery. This non-managerial, supernumerary role focuses on coaching and leading by example, working with practitioners and children to raise practice.

The post is a full-time, 32.5-hour week (09:00–16:00, Monday–Friday, 52 weeks/year) based at Curdridge on the outskirts of Botley. A Level 3 Early Years qualification and DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years Qualification is required.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child development.
• Ability to mentor and coach staff in line with Hopscotch policies.
• Welcoming approach to inducting and developing staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead by coaching and mentoring to raise teaching and care quality.
• Work across all rooms to support ratio requirements and cover lunches.
• Model outstanding interactions and plan next steps for staff and children.
• Support continual development of practice across the nursery.
