Job summary

Bright Horizons’ Fulbourn Day Nursery and Preschool is hiring an Early Years Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef in preparing meals for children and ensuring a clean, safe kitchen. The role covers 9am–6pm, Monday to Friday, at our Fulbourn site near Cambridge.

The successful candidate will have previous cooking experience, a passion for nutritious food, and a Food Safety Level 2 qualification on day one. Benefits include childcare discounts, enhanced parental leave, and generous leave

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cooking role (domestic or commercial)
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating
• Ability to manage dietary requirements and allergies
• Food Safety qualification required on day 1 of post
• Sound COSHH knowledge
• Good communication with colleagues, children and parents

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef with preparation and cooking of age‑appropriate meals for children
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safe working environment
• Ensure dietary requirements are clearly communicated to teams
• In Chef's absence take responsibility for running the kitchen and food service
