Job summary

Bright Horizons Fair Oak Day Nursery and Pre School is hiring an Early Years Kitchen Assistant in Fair Oak. You will support the Chef, prepare meals for children, and maintain hygiene and safety in the kitchen.

You will ensure dietary requirements are addressed and communicate options to staff and parents. The role requires hands-on cooking experience, a nutrition mindset, and Food Safety Level 2 or higher to be completed on day one.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in domestic or commercial settings.
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating.
• Knowledge of managing dietary requirements including allergies.
• Food Safety Level 2 or higher to be completed on day 1.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef in preparing age-appropriate meals for children.
• Keep the kitchen clean and safe with minimal waste.
• Communicate dietary requirements clearly to the team.
• Take run of the kitchen in the Chef's absence and ensure compliance.
