Job summary

Bright Horizons Banstead Day Nursery and Preschool in Banstead, Surrey, is hiring an Early Years Kitchen Assistant. You will support the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals for children, aiming for minimal waste and a clean, safe kitchen.

The role requires previous cooking experience, a passion for nutrition, and the ability to manage dietary requirements and allergies. Food Safety (CIEH Level 2 or above) and COSHH knowledge are essential, with DBS checks as part of safer

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cooking role, domestic or commercial.
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating.
• Ability to manage dietary requirements and food allergies.
• Sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirements, particularly allergies.
• Food Safety CIEH Level 2 or above must be passed on day 1 in post.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals for all children.
• Keep the kitchen clean and safe with minimum wastage.
• In the Chef's absence, run the kitchen and communicate dietary requirements to teams.
