Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting an experienced Early Years Improvement Advisor to drive high quality provision across childcare settings in Leicestershire.

You will advise, train and support providers, champion SEND and EYFS principles, and work with partners to improve outcomes for all children, including the most disadvantaged. Travel across the county will be required.

The role requires collaboration, resilience, and the ability to lead and influence across diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Level 6 qualification with outstanding early years practice in the early years sector or a school.
• Excellent understanding of EYFS statutory duties and SEND code of practice.
• Experience observing and evaluating quality learning and providing feedback as part of improvement processes.
• Experience of staff development and training.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Assertive, confident and able to cope with pressure.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and motivate others from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support high quality early years provision across the childcare sector.
• Provide advice, guidance and training to ensure high quality provision per Ofsted and EYFS duties.
• Champion the needs of disadvantaged children and ensure access to accessible early education and childcare.
• Support providers to apply the EYFS principles in practice and use the graduated approach.
• Lead strategies to implement EYFS and signpost to relevant agencies for support.
• Travel across Leicestershire to work with providers and partners.
