Guardian Jobs is recruiting an enthusiastic Early Years Graduate Teaching Assistant for an outstanding primary school in Southwark, South London. The role is full-time on a one-year fixed-term contract starting September 2026, with £550-£600 per week pay.

You will support Nursery and Reception, help with learning, and gain valuable school-based experience. The school offers strong support and training, with opportunities to develop core Early Years knowledge and skills within a welcoming

Qualifications

• A First-Class Honours Degree or 2:1 Degree from a recognised university.
• Strong GCSE results (A*-C / Grade 4 and above).
• Good A-Level results.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children within Nursery and Reception settings.
• Assisting with the delivery of engaging and creative learning activities.
• Supporting children's communication, language, literacy, and numeracy development.
• Encouraging positive social interaction and emotional development.
• Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions where required.
• Supporting children with varying learning needs and abilities.
• Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
