Job summary

Teach Now is hiring an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant in Barnet to support children aged three to five across Nursery and Early Years. You will collaborate with two colleagues to create an engaging, play-based classroom that builds confidence and independence, guided by the EYFS framework.

This hands-on role includes preparing resources, supporting routines, and helping with snacks and personal care.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children aged three to five in a nursery or classroom.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its areas of learning.
• Confident supporting a busy mainstream Early Years classroom.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and safeguarding checks.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Help children settle into daily routines.

Position: Early Years Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Full-time Temporary Work

Start Date: 05/10/2026

Location: Barnet, London

Salary: £93–£100 per day

Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training, such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

About the Role

A mainstream primary school in Barnet is seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children aged three to five across Nursery and Early Years.

Working alongside two colleagues, you will help create an engaging classroom where children learn through play, develop confidence and build independence. Your knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage will guide activities that follow childrens interests and encourage communication.

Requirements

• Experience supporting children aged three to five in a nursery or classroom
• Working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its areas of learning
• Confidence supporting a busy mainstream Early Years classroom
• Willingness to assist with personal care, including changing when required
• The right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo safeguarding checks
