Job summary

Magic Roundabout Nurseries is seeking an experienced Level 3 Early Years Educator for our Ilkeston nursery. The role focuses on leading play-based learning rooted in the EYFS, mentoring junior staff, and building strong relationships with families.

You will document progress, observe children, and ensure safeguarding and health and safety standards are upheld. The position is full-time with funded CPD, birthday leave, and a supportive growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or higher.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in EYFS/early years.
• Solid understanding of the EYFS framework, observations, and assessments.
• Clear communication with children, families, and colleagues.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver play-based learning experiences rooted in the EYFS.
• Mentor and guide junior staff in your room.
• Build warm, consistent relationships with children and their families.
• Track and document children's progress, flagging concerns early.
• Maintain safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety standards at all times.
• Cover room leadership when needed.

YOU MUST HAVE

• A Level 3 Early Years Educator (EYE) qualification or above — this is a firm requirement
• At least 2 years' hands-on experience in an early years or EYFS setting
• Confident knowledge of the EYFS framework, including observations and assessments
• The ability to communicate clearly with children, families, and colleagues
• The right to work in the UK

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
