Job summary

Sandwell College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assessor in Early Years and Education to join our Early Years and Education team on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Section, you will deliver high-quality assessment, training and support, manage a caseload of learners, liaise with employers and awarding bodies, and help learners achieve success across Early Years programmes.

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 3 childcare/early years qualification
• Teaching qualification (PTLLS/CTLLS or equivalent) or willingness to achieve
• Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1 or equivalent)
• Experience of assessing and training within Early Years/Childcare or related sector
• Current industry knowledge of Early Years practice
• Experience managing learner caseloads for timely progression
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• ILt proficiency to support learning and assessment
• Commitment to equality, safeguarding and learner success
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality assessment, feedback and support to learners within Early Years and Education programmes
• Develop innovative delivery models and customised training programmes
• Manage an agreed caseload of learners, supporting timely achievement and progression
• Conduct workplace assessments and utilise effective assessment methods
• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate tracking systems
• Ensure learners are registered with awarding bodies
• Produce reports on recruitment, retention, achievement and performance
• Participate in curriculum development and quality improvement
• Liaise with employers, awarding bodies and moderators
• Maintain accurate academic/administrative records
• Undertake external examinations and assessment activities
• Contribute to standardisation meetings and CPD activities
