Job summary

Bright Horizons The Park Day Nursery and Preschool in Watford, WD18, is seeking an Early Years Assistant to join a warm, supportive team. The Ofsted-graded Good nursery offers a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a starting salary of £29,432 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

You’ll help care for children up to age 5 through interactive play and development-focused activities. The role emphasises teamwork, building trust with families, and creating a stimulating environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children ideal but not essential – Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar.
• Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents.
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults.

Responsibilities

• As an Early Years Assistant, you will look after babies and children up to age 5.
• You will support development through interactive play, activities, reading, and encouraging curiosity.
• You will work as part of a team to ensure a safe, nurturing learning environment for all children.

We’re looking for an Early Years Assistant to join our Bright Horizons The Park Day Nursery and Preschool. The nursery is Ofsted rated ‘Good’, and is situated in Watford in a beautiful converted Victorian house. The 63-place setting has four rooms across three floors. It is very local to the Watford town centre and has great transport links- the Watford metropolitan station is very close by, and Watford Junction is just a 10 minute walk.

The Role

As an Early Years Assistant, you will work as part of a team to look after babies and children up to the age of 5. You will have adventures with our children through interactive play, activities, reading, and encouraging their curious minds – supporting colleagues with each child’s development towards their key milestones.
