Job summary

Flourish Education in Redditch is seeking an Early Years Assistant to support children in the school's preschool room, helping create a safe, engaging learning environment and to foster confidence and enjoyment in early learning.

You will work with the Early Years team to support play-led learning, indoor and outdoor activities, and follow the guidance of the class teacher. DBS Update Service is preferred, with two excellent references.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in EYFS, nursery, preschool, or First School settings.
• Good understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Confident supporting play-led learning and child-initiated activities.
• Experience supporting children's learning, development and behaviour.
• Confident indoor and outdoor learning and play.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Able to work as part of an EYFS team and follow the class teacher/room leader guidance.
• DBS registered on Update Service or issued within last 12 months.
• Two excellent references required.
• Recent UK school or Early Years-based experience.

Job description

We are recruiting for an Early Years Assistant to work in a First School based in Redditch. This Early Years Assistant role will involve working within the school's preschool room, providing general support to children and helping to create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.

The school is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and experienced Early Years Assistant who can confidently support young children's learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with the Early Years team to support play-led learning, helping children to develop their confidence, independence, communication, and early learning skills. The role will also involve supporting outdoor play and learning activities.

This role is full-time and will start as soon as possible on a long-term basis until July 2027.

Required Skills and Experience for this Early Years Assistant Role:

• Have experience working with children within an Early Years, nursery, preschool, or First School setting.
• Have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
• Be confident supporting play-led learning and child-initiated activities.
• Have experience supporting children's learning, development, and behaviour.
• Be confident supporting both indoor and outdoor learning and play.
• Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Be able to work effectively as part of an Early Years team and follow the direction of the class teacher or room leader.
• Have a DBS registered on the Update Service or one that was issued within the last 12 months.
• Be able to provide a minimum of two excellent references.
• Have recent UK school or Early Years-based experience.
