Job details:

• Hours: 20 hours per week
• Salary: £12,021.62 per annum
• Contract: Permanent 11-month contract with July off

Job Background:

The role of the Developmental Programme for 2 – 3 Year Olds Assistant, incorporating the Little Stars Programme, will be to deliver quality early year’s services to support the delivery of the Sure Start programme within Bangor Sure Start. The successful candidate will work alongside an established team, ensuring that a welcoming, safe, and child-centred environment is offered to the children.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement a child-centred and welcoming environment.
• Ensure a safe, stimulating, and varied programme of play and learning opportunities.
• Work with the team to organise the environment inside and outside, ensuring resources and equipment are available, compliant, and appropriate.
• Develop and deliver the Developmental Programme for 2 – 3 Year Olds / Little Stars, as outlined in the Lisburn Sure Start yearly business plan, providing a purposeful, stimulating environment rich in learning opportunities both indoors and outdoors.
• Establish effective and empowering relationships with parents to enable them to develop their children’s maximum potential.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum of QCF Level 3 Child Care qualification or equivalent (consideration given to those working towards qualification).
• At least 1 year’s experience working in an early years sector.
• 5 GCSEs including English language and Maths, Grade C or above.
• Clean driver’s license and access to transport.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience working within a developmental programme for two – three-year-olds.
• At least 1 year’s experience of child observations and reporting on work done.
