Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking an Early Childhood Practitioner to support families from pregnancy through to school age. You will work across Family Hubs, community settings and home visits delivering play, learning and parenting support to help children thrive.

Three part-time positions, 24 hours per week, involve group sessions, outreach and home visits, with collaboration across health, education and community services to deliver holistic support and positive outcomes for families.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in an Early Years setting, in a voluntary, private, or public setting.
• Ability to engage and build trusted relationships with parent and carers and their children.
• Knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
• Ability to meet the travelling requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging play sessions, group and one-to-one support to children.
• Promote children’s development and prepare them for school.
• Collaborate with families and partners across health, education and community services.
• Provide outreach and home visits and help shape services based on community needs.
