Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking an Early Childhood Practitioner to support families from pregnancy through to school age. You will work across Family Hubs, community settings and home visits delivering play, learning and parenting support to help children thrive.

Three part-time positions, 24 hours per week, involve group sessions, outreach and home visits, with collaboration across health, education and community services to deliver holistic support and positive outcomes for families.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in an Early Years setting, in a voluntary, private, or public setting.
• Ability to engage and build trusted relationships with parent and carers and their children.
• Knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
• Ability to meet the travelling requirements of the role.

We’re looking for a passionate Early Childhood Practitioner to support families from pregnancy through to school age. Working across Family Hubs, community settings, and home visits, you’ll deliver engaging play, learning, and parenting support to help children thrive.

We have 3 positions available, working 24 hours per week

In this role, you will deliver engaging play sessions, as well as group and one-to-one support to children, helping to promote their development and prepare them for school. You will work closely with families, including those with additional needs, building strong, supportive relationships and encouraging positive parenting. The role also involves collaborating with partners across health, education, and community services to provide a coordinated and holistic approach to support.

The people we are looking for in this vital position will have:

• Experience of working in an Early Years setting, in a voluntary, private, or public setting
• Ability to engage and build trusted relationships with parent and carers and their children.
• Knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
• Ability to meet the travelling requirements of the role.
