Job summary

Academics Ltd. is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to work across partner nurseries and primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent. You will deliver EYFS activities with teachers, ensuring high care standards and active development in literacy, numeracy and personal skills.

DBS checks and references are required. You will travel to partner sites by 8:30am, often with short-notice calls for on-the-day requirements, and work within a supportive recruitment consultant framework offering access to varied

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent).
• GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level 2 minimum.
• UK nursery or primary school experience evidenced through references.
• Willing to travel and attend partnership nurseries/primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent by 8:30am with short-notice requirements.

Job description

Responsibilities of a Early Childhood Educator:

• Work alongside teachers and fellow practitioners to deliver engaging EYFS appropriate lessons and activities.
• Provide high standards of care, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Supporting children's early literacy, numeracy, communication, and personal development.
• To encourage independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction.
• To be familiar and confident in delivering of the EYFS curriculum.

For this role, candidates who apply must have:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent).
• A good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
• Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or primary school setting (in the UK) and this is evidenced through referencing.
• Be happy to travel and to be able to get to our partnership nurseries and primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent by 8.30am with sometimes only 30-60 minute's notice for our on the day requirements.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Paediatric First Aid (or to be willing to work towards).
