Job summary

Academics Ltd. are recruiting Level 3 Early Childhood Educators to work across partner nurseries and primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas. This flexible, temporary role suits educators seeking varied school-based experience, work-life balance, or re-entry to the workforce with both full- and part-time options.

You will support delivery of EYFS, collaborate with teachers and practitioners, and help maintain safe, engaging learning environments across multiple settings.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent)
• GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or higher (Functional Skills Level 2 min)
• Experience working with young children in nursery or primary schools in the UK and evidenced via references
• Willing to travel to partnership nurseries and primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent by 8:30am, with short notice when needed
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
• Paediatric First Aid or willingness to work towards it

Job description

Academics are currently looking for dedicated Level 3 Early Childhood Educators to join our team. You will work across our partnership nurseries and mainstream primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas.

This flexible and temporary role is ideal for Early Childhood Educators who are seeking varied experience in a variety of schools, a work-life balance, or those returning to the workforce on a full or part time basis.

Responsibilities of a Early Childhood Educator:

• Work alongside teachers and fellow practitioners to deliver engaging EYFS appropriate lessons and activities.
• Provide high standards of care, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Supporting children's early literacy, numeracy, communication, and personal development.
• To encourage independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction.
• To be familiar and confident in delivering of the EYFS curriculum.

For this role, candidates who apply must have:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent).
• A good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
• Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or primary school setting (in the UK) and this is evidenced through referencing.
• Be happy to travel and to be able to get to our partnership nurseries and primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent by 8.30am with sometimes only 30-60 minute's notice for our on the day requirements.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Paediatric First Aid (or to be willing to work towards).

Please be aware that your daily rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, training, and the client rate that is currently available
