Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley in Leeds is seeking a Graduate Environmental Specialist to join our environmental team and support live water and wastewater projects. You will identify and manage environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, from early design through construction to completion, and you will be enrolled in our 12‑month Early Careers Development Programme.

You’ll work with ecology, heritage, and archaeology inputs, develop environmental management plans, and collaborate with design

Qualifications

• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a directly related subject.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, good organisation and attention to detail, and a collaborative, proactive approach to problem solving.
• Awareness of planning processes and environmental surveys, permits and consents in supporting construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Help identify environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, from solution definition to completion
• Support project teams to develop practical environmental mitigation measures, considering compliance, safety, cost, programme and social impacts
• Help plan and coordinate specialist environmental inputs, including ecology, heritage and archaeology, so that activities are completed at the right time and to the required standard
• Work alongside other specialists to assist with environmental deliverables, including environmental management plans, permit and consent applications, and associated technical reports
• Work collaboratively with design and construction teams, clients, regulators and other stakeholders to support positive environmental outcomes
