Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the team located in Colchester.

Role Summary:

As a CBRE Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will utilize your advanced skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repairs of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds. Working under limited supervision, you will monitor building system operations and performance, utilizing skills across trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to M&E plant in line with statutory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and company policies related to building operations and safety.
  • Representing CBRE values and behaviors, maintaining a professional image, and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Inspecting building systems like fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation within design parameters and environmental conditions.
  • Overseeing and inspecting work performed by outside contractors, including landscaping, snow removal, remodelling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning services.
  • Performing repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance, and maintaining records of all activities.
  • Reviewing work orders, estimating time and materials, and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintaining energy management programs to operate systems efficiently and minimize costs.
  • Maintaining building lighting systems, including repairs and replacements.
  • Responding promptly to emergency situations and summoning assistance when necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in Facilities Management or Maintenance Engineering roles.
  • Experience with Reactive and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
  • A degree or qualification in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
  • A strong customer focus and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with PC skills, including MS Office.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, well-organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
