Job Description
ASOS STUDIOS Senior Photographer
Seniors at ASOS are experienced and skilled leaders with a talented eye for creativity and practical implementation. As a Senior, you will work closely with the Photography Manager and senior teams, training, mentoring, and inspiring the team to deliver industry-leading ecommerce assets for the ASOS product pages, targeting the 20-something customer. You will drive department efficiency, think commercially and innovatively, and lead with a creative, strategic, and operational mindset.
What you'll be doing...
- Reporting to the Photography Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of your Photographer team, including product page enrichment of 1000+ products daily.
- Shooting products to high standards in model and non-model studios.
- Engaging in a variety of creative projects, including campaigns and social media, using techniques like mobile photography.
- Providing high-quality model direction to ensure authenticity and engagement, coaching the team to bring out expressive, fashion-forward movements.
- Managing creative implementation, budgets, cost per product, and KPIs.
- Leading a team of Midweight and Junior Photographers, monitoring processes throughout the day.
- Creating and maintaining shoot guides from a photography perspective.
- Ensuring Photographers meet styling expectations aligned with segment standards.
- Collaborating with senior team members to evolve strategies based on current trends and fashion relevance.
- Planning and preparing for scheduled shoots.
- Managing equipment orders and liaising with suppliers within the team budget.
- Conducting workshops and training in various creative specialties.
- Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop photography technologies and oversee equipment upgrades.
- Maintaining studio kit, ensuring it is in optimal condition and replacements are flagged timely.
- Directly managing a minimum of 4 team members.
- Monitoring team performance KPIs and SLAs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Conducting regular 1-2-1s, supporting personal development and progression.
- Planning for team succession and encouraging growth through objectives and training.
- Leading team and departmental meetings.
- Being a role model within your team and the wider department.
- Ensuring processes deliver creative and quality standards aligned with strategy.
- Promoting authenticity, bravery, and creativity within the team.
- Developing your leadership style in line with ASOS Behaviours policy.
- Collaborating with other leaders to successfully deliver departmental strategies.
- Building strong, professional relationships across the studio and with external stakeholders.
- Demonstrating excellent brand awareness by researching and assessing competition.
- Designing and implementing automated workflows to streamline practices.
- Overseeing technology software and hardware launches.
- Delivering projects aligned with the department strategy and other ad-hoc tasks.

Qualifications

- Ability to adapt and execute different shooting methods and types
- Experience in model and still life product photography
- Understanding of photography treatments aligned with ASOS aesthetics
- Highly organized and proactive in decision-making and problem-solving
- Positive attitude and strong team player
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills
- Good understanding of lighting and Capture One
- Strong computer literacy skills
