4 on / 4 off (includes weekends on a rota basis) from 6:00am to 6:00pm

Summer 2024 brings exciting new equipment, including a 5-metre Tunnel Washer, a HyDro Water Reclamation System, and enhanced dryers, irons, and folders. The Maintenance team will play an integral role in ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of the equipment in a 24/7 operation. About The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role involves performing both proactive and reactive maintenance on laundry equipment at Big Blue and other facilities. You will work in a highly automated environment, using your technical skills to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.

Your key responsibilities include:
  1. Servicing & PPMs: Regular servicing and planned preventative maintenance of equipment, including commercial and industrial washing machines, tumble dryers, rotary irons, finishing, and dosing machines.
  2. Fault Finding: Proactively identify and prevent faults to reduce breakages and downtime. Report defects that could impact operations.
  3. In-House Engineering: Maintain machinery and equipment to high standards, contribute to continuous improvement of plant and maintenance activities.
  4. Collaboration with external specialists: Liaise with third parties for specialized knowledge, hardware issues, and future installations.
  5. Stock management: Monitor and manage critical spare parts inventory, including ordering when levels are low.
  6. Health and Safety: Ensure safety procedures are followed and continuously seek process improvements.

  • Shift Managers / Supervisors: Support equipment maintenance and provide technical expertise.
Requirements

Key qualities and competencies include:

Technical Competency
  • Fully qualified engineer, preferably with electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial laundry equipment and electrical/mechanical skills.
  • Full driving license.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Understanding of effective PPM practices.
Technology, Automation, and IT Literacy
  • Comfort with automation and technology to optimize processes.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and related software.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Teamwork and influencing skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to support other operations as needed.
  • Positive, self-motivated attitude and eagerness to learn.

Benefits

Salary: £35,000 - £42,500 depending on experience.
