Job description

Job Opportunity: Registered Mental Nurse (RMN)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated RMN to work at an exceptional hospital located in Ayr, South Ayrshire. This hospital specializes in acute adult mental health services within a low Secure Service, focusing on patients with personality disorders.

Note: Due to current sponsorship allocation limits, we are unable to offer sponsorship to new candidates for these roles. This policy is under review.

Role Overview

As an RMN, you will be employed by one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with the multidisciplinary team, external agencies, patients, and their families. A good working knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 is essential. Experience in a related environment is also required.

Key Duties
  1. Provide high standards of care to individuals with mental illness and personality disorders.
  2. Develop therapeutic relationships to enhance patient engagement.
  3. Contribute to patient assessments, develop care plans, and monitor progress.
  4. At senior levels, lead shifts and mentor/support student nurses and team members.
  5. Adhere to all codes of conduct, standards, legislation, and promote ethical practice.

Additional Information

Working hours are full-time (37.5 hours/week) with options for part-time and permanent contracts. Salary adjustments apply based on working hours for the welcome bonus.
