ABOUT ST. MICHAEL'S SCHOOL
St. Michael's School and sixth form is one of the UK's leading independent schools, consistently highly ranked yet remaining inclusive and committed to our mission of success for all students who join us. We offer an outstanding education, combining the pursuit of academic excellence with all-round personal development, for boys and girls aged 3-18 years.
BACKGROUND TO THE POST
This exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a School Secretary & Receptionist, due to the retirement of the current post holder after 23 years of service. Our school continues to thrive, with many years oversubscribed due to high demand for places. Working in the independent schools sector offers many benefits, and St. Michael’s is one of Wales’ leading schools. Our summer 2024 A-Level results placed us third in the UK (Sunday Times). In 2021, we were named Welsh Independent Secondary School of the Decade by The Sunday Times. These achievements reflect our dedicated staff and motivated pupils, who contribute to our success.
We seek a charismatic and confident communicator with experience in a front-of-house role. The role's responsibilities are vital to the school's daily operations. It is a full-time, year-round position, with a busy pace during term time. The ideal candidate will be resilient, thrive in a dynamic environment, and be able to balance the needs of staff, pupils, and parents effectively. Attention to detail, prioritization skills, discretion, teamwork, calmness under pressure, and efficiency are essential qualities for success in this role.
If you join us, you will work with motivated children, enjoy various employee benefits, and be part of a friendly, supportive team in a positive working environment.
