ROLE: Laboratory Technician

LOCATION: Kettering

HOURS OF WORK: Days

BASIC SALARY: £24,500 per annum

Company Profile

Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their friendly organisation based in Kettering on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate standard laboratory equipment in line with Health and Safety assessments and test methods to conduct routine physical testing of products, their materials, and components.
2. Take responsibility for certain aspects of the laboratory and stores maintenance and upkeep.
3. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Prepare samples and conduct testing work to meet agreed deadlines.
5. Ensure compliance with UKAS requirements, including maintaining personal training records.

Qualifications and Skills:

• GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (NVQ Level 3).
• Familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work to deadlines, produce accurate and detailed results, and work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisation, time management, meticulous attention to detail, and planning skills.
• Flexibility, tenacity, and a ‘can-do attitude’.
• Experience in a test laboratory environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
