Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a key business and influential player in the UK anaerobic digestion/biogas sector to recruit a Senior Project Engineer. This role involves supporting a pipeline of projects across the UK, managing and overseeing all aspects of project delivery through to handover. The Senior Project Engineer position offers a competitive salary + bonus, company benefits, and hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Report to the Head of Projects, liaising with Site Operations, H&S, and external contractors to oversee all project delivery aspects.
• Plan and manage projects alongside multi-functional teams, focusing on day-to-day operations.
• Control and supervise key elements of project specifications, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate internal resources and vendors to ensure flawless execution, while driving continuous improvement.
• Monitor build progress and ensure project quality, regularly communicating with clients, stakeholders, and project managers about progress.
• Manage risks to prevent delays or reputational damage.
• Ensure necessary permits and legal documents are obtained.
• Travel to project sites as required to oversee activities.

Professional Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Achieved or working towards Chartership.
• NEBOSH/IOSH qualification is desirable.
• 5+ years of proven experience delivering projects on time and within budget.

Personal Skills

• Full UK driving license is essential.
• A self-starter capable of creating strategies and working well under pressure.
• Experience working on projects within the organics waste, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas, or food industries is advantageous.
• Civils experience is beneficial.
• Flexible to travel and stay away as required.
