Role Summary

Account Manager role that sits within the Account Management Team at Havas, specialising in managing and activating partnerships and sponsorships.

An integrated role spanning sponsorship activation, rights holder management, experiential and events, as well as an understanding of digital content, media and communications.

Purpose of Role

The Account Manager is the central “cog” of the team. It is their responsibility to manage up and delegate out to ensure their accounts run smoothly. They must identify actions and complete them promptly, staying on top of the daily workload and ensuring all AEs & SAEs deliver to a high standard.

Building and demonstrating strong working relationships with the core team and acting as the main day-to-day contact for clients is vital. Clients should have confidence in the AM's ability to manage the account and act in their best interests, trusting their counsel and viewing them as a key team member.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills to manage demands from clients, rights holders, suppliers, and agency contacts—collecting, prioritising requests, briefs, and actions.

Key Responsibilities

As an Account Manager, you should be confident in the following areas:

Managing multiple accounts:

  • Ability to handle multiple accounts and increased workloads through effective delegation (both upwards and downwards).
  • Work across multiple clients and projects while maintaining high standards, staying calm under pressure, and delegating effectively.

Writing and Presentation Skills:

  • Strong creative and corporate writing skills for external documents (proposals, reports) and internal documents (toolkits, case studies).
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality work.
  • Confidence in leading presentations, discussing documents with clients, and pitching ideas.
  • Clear and concise communication, both verbally and in writing, in internal and client-facing contexts.

Approach, Initiative & Problem Solving:

  • Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset—thinking ahead.
  • Ownership and accountability for daily operations.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems proactively, with suggested solutions.
  • Always keeping clients and brands in mind.

Relationships:

  • Clients & Rights Holders: Cultivate strong relationships.
  • Inter-Agency: Develop solid relationships within the agency, understanding different departments and processes.
  • Suppliers & Agencies: Build and nurture relationships with external contacts to maximize opportunities.

Strategic Skills and Responding to Briefs:

  • Understand planning processes and respond with strategic thinking.
  • Learn to interrogate and creatively answer briefs, articulate ideas effectively.
  • Plan, organise, and manage activations, including rights activation, events, content, influencer engagement, and coordinating suppliers.
  • Oversee status reports, timelines, budgets, and develop critical paths.

Client Services & Industry Knowledge:

  • Expand industry knowledge relevant to clients and projects.
  • Monitor competitor activity, news, and industry innovations to contribute ideas and insights.

People Management:

  • Manage daily team operations, ensure communication, and conduct regular status meetings.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to AEs.

Time Management:

  • Ensure work is delivered on time, flag issues early, and support team members in managing their time effectively.

Finance:

  • Proficient in finance processes: setting up job numbers, processing POs and invoices.
  • Work with suppliers on cost estimates, support in generating SOW documents, negotiate costs, and manage project budgets.
  • Assist in preparing fee proposals.
