Bring your skills as an Associate Director in River Engineering, playing a vital role in river engineering and flood defence on Transformational Programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on iconic projects at home and abroad.

We specialise in all aspects of river engineering across sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, and Cities & Development. We provide industry-leading solutions throughout the project lifecycle, including client-side support and construction phases. If you’re passionate about this industry, we’d love to talk to you.

We have opportunities in Epsom, Peterborough, Bristol, Exeter, Swansea, Birmingham, and Manchester offices.

Your Purpose:
  • Own and direct teams undertaking technical design work following relevant standards and codes, ensuring high quality.
  • Define briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.
  • Manage time and budgets to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Set quality assurance standards in design.
  • Develop and manage engineering capabilities within the practice.
What you can bring:
  • Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary projects.
  • Knowledge of flood walls, embankments, weirs, hydraulic structures, culverts, scour protection, access, and logistics.
  • Familiarity with UK design standards, guidance, and practices.
  • Proficiency in traditional engineering and environmentally focused, nature-based solutions.
