Job Description:

Our Telco Partner is seeking a UK-qualified lawyer with experience in in-house or private practice, specializing in compliance, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and/or corporate M&A, to join their expanding in-house legal team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage corporate governance and compliance within the UK business.
• Provide general commercial and corporate advice based on business needs and experience.
• Assist with corporate M&A and competition work as opportunities arise.
• Report to the Director of Legal and collaborate with the UK Strategy & Regulatory team and global compliance teams.
• Lead UK initiatives on corporate crime prevention, data privacy, Electronic Communications Code registration, and Telecommunications Security Act compliance.
• Manage and develop a paralegal team focused on Corporate Governance & Compliance.
• Maintain and update UK compliance policies regularly.
• Build external industry contacts.
• Oversee corporate governance for UK entities, including documentation and local procedures.
• Coordinate with Group Treasury and Group Tax on financial controls.

EXPERIENCE

• Qualified lawyer in England & Wales.
• 10+ years PQE.
• Ability to work proactively with diverse teams and external advisors.
• Strong knowledge of legal & compliance matters, especially data protection and security.
• Interest and willingness to specialize further in data privacy and information security.
• Experience with company secretarial and corporate governance activities.
• Interest or experience in commercial contracts, corporate M&A, and competition law is desirable.
