We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Motor Underwriter to be part of the UK Commercial Solutions Team, operating at UK level supporting our trading teams to develop and implement solutions for our most complex cases and risk profiles.

This is a great role for someone with high levels of underwriting authority looking to further develop their knowledge and segment specialisms, maximising opportunities through development of market leading propositions & solutions for individual cases and blocks of business working closely with the Trading and Broker Performance Team.

A bit about the job:

• Assist with the Underwriting Strategy, philosophy/principles, best practice & processes
• Lead the continual development of our open market propositions for the commercial Mid-Market segment.
• Develop & Lead strong Commercial Motor Underwriting capability across the trading teams
• Ensure knowledge & insight into the performance of the Mid Market Commercial Motor Segment, supporting SME Planning & performance, and linking to the CUO Team
• Ensure development of leading knowledge, capability, and expertise across the Commercial Motor Sector.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Experienced Commercial Motor Underwriter with high levels of underwriting authority, eager to develop and expand underwriting knowledge and authority across Property and Liability Classes, complementing Commercial Motor Underwriting expertise
• Understanding of performance issues at the Commercial Segment level for Mid-Market, Scheme & Small Commercial Business to direct action and identify opportunities/threats to underwriting performance
• Strong commercial business acumen to build and deliver business cases
• Ability to work collaboratively within a large, sophisticated organization and proven leadership and mentoring skills
• Good knowledge of risk management and its application across the Commercial Motor Segment within Mid-Market
