Technical Motor Underwriter - Salary is Competitive

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Motor Underwriter to join the UK Commercial Solutions Team. This role involves supporting trading teams at the UK level to develop and implement solutions for complex cases and risk profiles.

This position is ideal for someone with high underwriting authority seeking to expand their knowledge and segmentation expertise. You will develop market-leading propositions and solutions for individual cases and blocks of business, working closely with the Trading and Broker Performance Team.

About the job:

1. Assist with Underwriting Strategy, philosophy, principles, best practices, and processes.
2. Lead the development of open market propositions for the commercial Mid-Market segment.
3. Develop and lead a strong Commercial Motor Underwriting capability across trading teams.
4. Monitor and analyze the performance of the Mid-Market Commercial Motor segment to support SME planning and performance, linking to the CUO Team.
5. Build leading knowledge, capability, and expertise within the Commercial Motor sector.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

1. Experienced Commercial Motor Underwriter with high underwriting authority, eager to expand knowledge across Property and Liability classes to complement Commercial Motor underwriting expertise.
2. Understanding of performance issues at the segment level for Mid-Market, Scheme, and Small Commercial Business to identify opportunities and threats.
3. Strong commercial acumen to build and deliver business cases.
4. Proven leadership and mentoring abilities within a large organization.
5. Good knowledge of risk management applicable to the Commercial Motor segment.
