Job Title: Senior Strategy Partner

Reporting to: Head of Strategy, Wavemaker Worldwide

About the role

The Senior Strategy Partner is a high-profile leadership role within Wavemaker Worldwide. The Senior Strategy Partner leads strategic relationships with our clients, spearheads new business efforts, and plays a pivotal role in the agency's product roadmap. This position also serves as a key link to the specialist experts in the Consulting Hub (Commerce, Data, Analytics, Technology, Precision, and Content), working collaboratively and leading projects to help clients develop and execute digital change plans across their business.

Core responsibilities

  • Expert in data from multiple sources in innovative ways to find insights and articulate the story.
  • Translate briefs and data into tasks for communications around the consumer purchase journey.
  • Well-versed in consumer insight – understanding the why behind the what of people’s behavior and decision-making.
  • Put audience-led thinking at the heart of our recommendations to clients, drawing on novel and disparate data sources to create comprehensible and actionable audience-led strategies.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable across all media channels, from posters to sponsored stories, and clearly articulate their role and how they contribute to our clients’ growth.
  • Lead conversations on the latest platform innovations and ensure our communication recommendations to clients leverage platform best practices.
  • Able to work across multiple disciplines to provide a holistic POV to clients (e.g., trading, activation, commerce).
  • Create strategic recommendations that drive innovative and effective use of communications (and measurable business outcomes).
  • Lead conversations with external agencies that work with our clients to ensure Wavemaker is best represented at the table.
  • Understand how our Consultancy Hub expertise and services can be organized and delivered to clients to improve their marketing performance and customer experiences.
  • Excellent communicator in client meetings, pitches, and external events, presenting work and solutions with empathy, authority, and conviction.
  • Lead thought leadership efforts within the agency.
  • Role model positive provocation to the team, within the agency, and with clients.
  • Lead new business efforts, coordinating and collaborating on the Wavemaker response to briefs and ensuring the agency presents a smart, evidenced, and provocative strategic voice.
  • Work as part of the virtual product team, identifying opportunities for new products that advance the agency OS and planning system.

Location

Person specification and requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in media/comms strategy, ideally global.
  • Omnichannel experience with strong digital and eCommerce capabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral English capabilities.
  • Driven personality able to sell a provocative POV/strategy to client EXCOs.
  • Excellent thinker with a good level of pragmatism and sense of reality.
  • Positive energy and sense of humor.
