Job Description: Tutor in Maldon

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Tutor in or around Maldon to deliver tailored tuition sessions to students currently out of school, who may need additional help with the Maths and English curriculum.

As a Tutor, your responsibilities include creating, planning, and delivering 1:1 lessons to bridge gaps in students' education, boost engagement, and improve attainment levels. Your goal is to help students achieve the grades they need for further education. This role is ideal for experienced teachers seeking to offer more personalized and enjoyable lessons outside the traditional classroom setting.

Many students will have been out of education for some time, possibly resulting in low confidence. It is your role to re-engage them in learning and help restore structure to their daily routines.

Prospero Teaching will collaborate with you to monitor each student's progress and support effective learning.

Contract/Position Details

1. Position – Maths and English Tutor
2. Type of work – Contract

6. Rate of pay – £25 per hour
7. Hours – Sessions range from a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 3 hours

Experience, Training, and Qualifications

1. QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent
2. At least 6 months of experience working in a UK school (desirable)
3. Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable but not essential)

• Right to Work in the UK
• An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one
• Two professional child-related references covering the last two years
