Job summary

The post holder is a senior technical expert member of the Application Support Team, primarily responsible for the technical support of the Electronic Bed Management System (Oracle CapMan/Careview Dashboard), and also providing support for other Trust EPR systems such as Oracle Millennium and Rio. Previous build and configuration experience with Oracle Millennium/CapMan/Careview Dashboard applications is essential.

Main duties of the job
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of EPR systems to respond to and advise end users effectively.
  • Develop and maintain the Electronic Bed Management System and other EPRs in line with the Trust change process.
  • Ensure successful delivery of system upgrades and maintain business continuity plans.
  • Develop service-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with Service Leads.
  • Advocate for the EPR system and promote its importance within the Trust.
  • Ensure adherence to service levels and monitor the EPR supplier’s performance.

Job description
Job responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for clinical systems to acute and community end users.
  • Support and develop the EPR, managing the day-to-day account operations relevant to the Trust site.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ensure Change Control Procedures are followed, and RFCs are up to date and submitted to the Change Control Board.
  • Manage technical support for EPR systems, including Electronic Bed Management and Clinical Portals.
  • Support service redesign and system changes to meet new requirements, explaining complex technical issues to staff.
  • Negotiate with third-party suppliers on system configuration and communicate updates.
  • Lead small-scale system upgrades and act as project lead for large-scale upgrades.
  • Manage incidents, problems, and change requests efficiently and professionally.
  • Coordinate escalation and monitor external requests, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
  • Assist with system maintenance and technical functions as required.
