General Summary:

The Revenue Senior Accountant II focuses on accounting for the company's product revenues, including gross-to-net liabilities and accounts receivable. In addition to month-end close responsibilities, this role collaborates closely with our finance distributor teams and third-party in-country distributors to ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and customer support items. The position also involves participating in projects such as automation and data analytics initiatives.

Position Summary:

This role supports the Revenue Accounting Manager, Distributor region, and Business Partners in preparing revenue accounting journal entries, aligning with forecast assumptions, group reporting, month-end close activities, data analysis, technical reviews (US GAAP), rebates/contractual claim reviews, financial controls including GL reconciliations, SOX, and compliance for the region. Building strong relationships with managers and international business partners is key to ensuring accurate reflection of market, reimbursement, forecast, and contract data in revenue accounting.

You are well-organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and problem-solving and can prioritize multiple deadlines and commitments, managing month and quarter-end close activities across multiple markets.

This service-driven role emphasizes business partnering and stakeholder management within a matrix organization, with the global revenue accounting team based in Boston, US, and regional finance & FP&A teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trust and open communication with the Revenue Accounting Manager, Senior Manager, international and global teams, and stakeholders.
• Perform month-end close activities, including:
• Preparation of gross-to-net revenue journal entries
• Analysis of gross-to-net accounts, including discounts, rebates, and pharma fees for multiple countries
• Resolution of variances and queries from stakeholders
• Analysis of sales forecast data for accrual estimates
• Preparation of revenue recognition journal entries
• Support early revenue estimation (flash process)
• Reconciliation of revenue accounts
• Review of 3PL AR reporting and reconciliation to Vertex accounting
• Preparation and filing of pharma fee quarterly submissions
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end close activities, providing insights on new product launches, agreements, and contract extensions, collaborating with 3PL management.
• Monitor reimbursement agreements for compliance and revenue recognition, supporting external reporting, payback, rebate invoicing, and forecast alignment.
• Prepare group reports, data analyses, GL account analyses, and reconcile complex revenue accounts.
• Support internal and external audits (SOX, group, statutory).
• Provide disclosures for SEC quarterly and annual reports in HFM.
• Drive process improvements and simplification within the team.

Education:

• Part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Big 4 experience is advantageous.

Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in US GAAP revenue accounting is preferred.
• Experience in a service-driven, business-partnering role within a multinational shared service/GBS organization is advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and finance processes.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; experience with Oracle R12, OBIEE, HFM, and SMART View is a plus.
