Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Location: Skelton, TS12 2LQ

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

About the role:

Responsible for managing and operating an efficient and functional busy warehouse in compliance with SPIE Wind Connect procedures and policies, while maintaining health and safety standards.

This includes the safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of warehouse items and project equipment in a professional and timely manner.

The role involves planning and coordinating warehouse team activities and working closely with the Procurement department to manage the complete project lifecycle from start to finish.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Implement new procedures to improve warehouse efficiency and monitor KPIs to evaluate staff performance.
  2. Train and supervise warehouse staff, including shift scheduling and task assignment, with daily briefings to communicate with the P&L Manager.
  3. Ensure timely dispatch of projects with all requirements completed, including asset logs, certifications, and management system updates.
  4. Manage incoming and outgoing logistics, including hazardous goods and customs procedures.
  5. Maintain stock accuracy and collaborate with the P&L Manager to ensure correct CAPEX/OPEX figures.
  6. Oversee asset management system, ensuring assets are tagged, logged, and tracked correctly.
  7. Schedule and oversee equipment maintenance, inspections, and tests; manage quarantine and write-off processes.
  8. Participate in operational meetings and serve as the point of contact for project equipment and asset tracking software.
  9. Attend QHSE meetings, uphold safe working practices, and ensure team compliance with health and safety policies, including weekly warehouse inspections.
  10. Provide in-house training on stock control and asset management systems for project personnel.
  11. Resolve issues within your area of responsibility and escalate as needed.
  12. Act as deputy for the P&L Manager when absent and report to the Head of Operations.
  13. Conduct stock takes as required.

  • Previous experience in warehouse or stores management.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to assign tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and management skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proactive, self-starting, and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, with a good work ethic.
  • Full, clean UK driving license is essential.
