Job description

My client is a Top 40 firm of Chartered Accountants. As a leading firm of Chartered Accountants, they look after the accountancy, tax planning, and business advisory needs of their clients (individuals, businesses, and third sector organizations both in the UK and overseas).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established firm and advance your accountancy career. This is a full-time role based in one of my client's accounts teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Have a strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices to deliver effective service to clients.
2. Prepare and review accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
3. Deliver tax planning and prepare self-assessment tax returns for individuals.
4. Provide dividend/remuneration planning for company directors.
5. Maintain excellent client relationship skills and handle client queries positively and professionally.
6. Provide strategic advice to clients on their accounts, taxation, and accounting systems/processes.
7. Mentor and lead colleagues within the accounting team and support their development.
8. Review VAT returns prepared by the bookkeeping team.
9. Undertake any ad hoc work as required by the accounts team.

Qualifications

1. ACCA/ACA qualified - Essential
2. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
3. Experience with accounting computer applications
4. At least 3 years’ experience managing financial systems, budgets, financial reporting, data analysis, auditing, taxation, and providing financial advice
5. Supervisory skills
