We are excited to be recruiting for an IT Support Engineer to join our busy IT Department. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire (hybrid).
Role
To provide technical and application support for hardware and software, ensuring the continuous availability of IPN IT Systems, Infrastructure, and Networks.
Responsibilities:
- Process queries and service requests submitted to the IT helpdesk, including call logging, managing calls, and appropriate escalation both internally and externally.
- Set up and conduct induction and initial training for users of core systems.
- Maintain and document support guides.
- Recommend IT improvements where necessary.
- Support IT hardware and infrastructure, including configuration and asset management.
- Provide business application support for all systems within the IT scope.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- A degree in IT or computing, or 2+ years of practical experience.
- Experience working in a first-line support environment.
- Significant experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to assess the IT knowledge levels of customers/employees.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge.
- In-depth understanding of the software and equipment used.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, BI Systems, Data Warehousing, Windows Hyper-V, Microsoft 2016 Server, backup solutions.
- Experience supporting ERP/MRP solutions, with both technical and functional understanding.
- Understanding of business systems and core processes.
- Experience in infrastructure and/or network support.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working with staff at all levels and collaborating with internal and external parties.
