Introduction
In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer focusing on First Article Inspection Reports (part of DVI-PPAP in Safran).
The Quality Engineer will work within the Quality Assurance Team / Program Quality Assurance Team on internal First Article Inspection Reports (or DVI-PPAP), flash audits on various processes, and containment actions, among other duties.
The individual will work closely with the customer and stakeholders across the business. Effective communication and engagement are critical to maintain customer satisfaction and confidence. The role is based onsite at Pitstone, Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities
- Understand the FAIR (or DVI-PPAP) process to create FAIR (DVI-PPAP) reports and potentially validate these reports following the delegation process.
- Support procedures to ensure compliance with Safran, NADCAP, and Customer requirements.
- Liaise with the internal team to resolve issues and facilitate the release of parts for production.
- Support qualification activities for internal special processes.
- Ensure relevant items of the Industrial Validation checklist are accurate.
- Participate in requirement updates or equipment modifications as needed.
- Perform containment actions as part of the 8D problem-solving methodology.
- Conduct flash audits on various processes and record evidence/data in the system.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as directed by the QA Engineer.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards (AS9102 essential; AS9103 and AS9145 are advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, tools, and methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to compare specifications and Certificates of Conformance with suppliers.
- Experience with 8D and other problem-solving methodologies.
- Manual inspection experience.
- Motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be based in the UK and able to provide evidence of right to work.
