Location: 30 Randalstown Rd, Antrim BT41 4FL.
Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent.
Working Hours: 40 hours over four days per week or 8:40-5:20 Mon-Fri.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new diagnostics platforms, automate systems, and improve products and services across Laboratory automation, MultiSTAT development (Analyser), and research into new technologies for Analyser design to support various industries.
- Develop design concepts based on User Requirements.
- Contribute to the development of Functional Requirements Specifications based on User Requirements and approved concept designs.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team, clearly communicate requirements to ensure coordinated development and testing.
- Apply knowledge of Electronic, Electrical, RF, Analogue, and Digital design for system components' design, assembly, integration, and prototyping.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and scientists to ensure rigorous testing, verification, and validation.
- Identify suitable COTS products/software for system use.
- Liaise with external design/manufacturing companies on technical specifications and project progress.
- Coordinate with Purchasing on supplier evaluation.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, calculations, work instructions, FMEA, BOM, etc.
- Conduct, review, and revise FMEA and contribute to risk/hazard analysis.
- Report project/status updates to management.
- Manage design changes in products under development and release, ensuring controlled processes.
- Ensure all systems meet high-quality standards and comply with internal procedures and external standards.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in electrical or electronic engineering or relevant work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in electronics design, covering analogue and digital circuits.
- Proven experience in electronic design, including analogue and digital circuits.
- Willingness to learn and explore new technologies.
- Advanced proficiency in schematic capture tools.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, EN14971, EN61010, or FDA guidance for medical devices.
- Experience with CE product marketing, technical file creation, or global regulatory compliance design.
- Understanding of design for manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and FDA guidance for medical devices.
- Understanding of IPC standards for cables or PCBs.
