Job Summary/Purpose

The HR Business Partner, Sr Staff is a senior to advanced level position that provides support in aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. This position supports partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HR Business Partner, Sr Staff does this by supporting and participating in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of people programs to drive the successful execution of business strategies. This role provides senior/advanced HR business partner support and is the face of HR for employees typically up to VP/GM level leaders (non-officer leadership) and below within their respective business units, operating under minimal supervision and making decisions within their expertise. May guide entry or mid-level HR Business Partners.

This position requires a proactive individual who can navigate and lead in ambiguous situations, is passionate about people, and committed to supporting our workforce in delivering premier performance.

Fundamental Job Duties/Responsibilities of all HR Business Partners
  1. Facilitates and leads discussions related to people and talent programs within their respective business units.
  2. Consults and mediates with employees up to VP/GM level leaders (typically non-officer leadership) and below, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  3. Identifies and communicates trends and metrics in partnership with HR, providing recommendations and leading solutions to drive desired outcomes.
  4. Uses data storytelling effectively, considering the audience to convey messages clearly and concisely.
  5. Manages employee relations issues up to VP/GM level leaders by collecting and preserving objective evidence to support recommendations.
  6. Maintains in-depth knowledge of labor relations and compliance requirements, partnering with legal as needed to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  7. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions, for leaders up to VP/GM level and below.
  8. Collaborates with leaders to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  9. Interprets and navigates HR policies and provides guidance accordingly.
  10. Offers consultative support on talent and culture initiatives within the business units.
  11. Communicates sensitive or challenging information empathetically and clearly, adjusting style as needed.
  12. Identifies training and coaching needs based on data and insights.
  13. Leads and implements change management initiatives.
  14. Coordinates with other departments and Centers of Excellence to optimize program impact.
  15. Develops and facilitates presentations and proposals using HR data.
  16. Builds strong relationships, communicates effectively, and navigates challenging situations with empathy and composure.
  17. Provides recommendations to improve employee experiences and work environments.
Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; equivalent work experience acceptable.

Experience: 5+ years HR experience with a degree or 7+ years without a degree.
