Job Description

Technical Sales Engineer (Hydraulics)

Our clients are a rapidly expanding business, distributing and manufacturing engineering components for Manufacturers and Distributors across the UK and Ireland.

The company is organized into four closely related divisions:

  1. Mechanical Power Transmission – Open Drives, including belts, chains, couplings, pulleys, bearings.
  2. Hydraulic Components – Hose, fittings, flexible and steel assemblies, valves, pumps, and cylinders.
  3. Agricultural Trailer Parts and Accessories – Axles, suspensions, braking systems, drawbar components.
  4. Bespoke Products – Offering design and production services from drawings or samples, with complete outsourcing solutions.

The successful candidate will be customer-facing, with the personality and skills to build strong relationships both from the office and in the field. They should possess sound IT skills, including effective use of our CRM system, and be proactive in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

Ideal candidates will have some sales or business experience in engineering products, preferably within one of our four divisions. This role may suit someone with experience in office-based or service-focused sales, seeking career progression.

The role involves providing technical advice to customers, including:

  • Handling spare parts inquiries for our products.
  • Advising customers on hydraulic and open drive inquiries.
  • Assisting warehouse and other team members with product knowledge.
  • Coordinating order priorities between customers and the warehouse team.
Qualifications
  • Relevant sales experience within one or more of our product divisions: Mechanical Power Transmission, Hydraulics, Agriculture, or Bespoke Products.
  • Degree in Business or Mechanical Engineering is beneficial but not essential.
  • Hands-on approach and strong attention to detail.
