A Midlands based Local Authority is seeking a Locum Employment Lawyer for a fully remote, part-time position. The role involves handling various employment law matters and providing legal advice to council departments. Ideal candidates will have experience with TUPE and managing discrimination claims. This position offers an hourly rate of up to £55 and is expected to last for 6 months with potential for extension.

Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority

Duration: 6 months + with the possibility of extension thereafter

Working Pattern: Part-time, 30 hours a week

Working Arrangement: Can consider Fully Remote Working

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling Employment Law matters and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.

Duties may include:

• Conducting a high standard of Employment work and have TUPE knowledge
• Providing advice to Senior Managers in Council departments and other Officers and staff in HR on a wide range of employment law issues and claims made against the Authority
• Managing a caseload that may include claims related to Sex Discrimination, Race Discrimination, Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Disability Discrimination, Age Discrimination, and Redundancy
• Drafting ET3s and defending Equal Pay Claims, Whistleblowing Claims, and Disability Claims
