Position: Locum Homelessness Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months rolling contract (Maternity Cover)
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working – must attend Court when required & collect IT first day
Hourly Rate: up to £45 per hour Umbrella
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority or Private Practice background and will have a broad working understanding of Homelessness matters to deal with a varied caseload.
Duties may include:
• Work within the Housing team, solely dealing with Homelessness legislation matters
• Manage Homeless Law’s casework, including by delivering high-quality legal advice
• Draft and organise homeless applications
• Deal with a caseload high volume of Judicial Review cases issued by individuals in relation to homelessness appeals for partner Councils and Pre Action Protocols
An attractive hourly rate of up to £45 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependent on experience. This is a great position for those looking to gain experience of working in the Public Sector as previous experience is desirable but not essential.
