Qualifications

  • Perform safety inspections and repairs as needed.
  • Diagnose faults (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) and maintain records.

Job description

HGV TECHNICIAN

Location: Rushenden / Queenborough Kent

Salary: £45,000 - £47,000 per annum (dependent on shift chosen, days or split shifts) with uncapped overtime at 1.5x rate

Hours: Monday to Friday - either Day shifts (07:00 - 17:00) or Split shifts (06:00 - 15:30 WK1, 12:30 - 22:00 WK2)

Our client, experiencing growth and expansion with a new large site, is seeking experienced HGV Technicians / Fleet Mechanics for their modern workshop near Rushenden / Queenborough Kent.

Responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out scheduled servicing, inspections, and testing preparations for fleet vehicles (HGV to LCV)
  • Performing safety inspections in line with statutory requirements to maintain Goods Vehicle Operator's Licence and repairing defects
  • Working on a variety of trucks and trailers
  • Performing PMIs, servicing, diagnostics, MOT prep, repairs, and major rebuilds
  • Diagnosing faults (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) and repairing as needed
  • Maintaining records of inspections, services, and repairs
  • Liaising with colleagues and managers to prioritize workload and organize parts/support
Requirements:
  • Level 3 City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ qualification, or time served
  • HGV licence is advantageous
  • Diagnostic experience is advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence
