Job Summary

We are recruiting a European Payroll Process and Systems Manager for our European Shared Services team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role reports to the Director of Global Payroll Operations.

The role involves strategy execution, team leadership, vendor management, and stakeholder collaboration, focusing on internal clients and external providers.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead payroll execution across designated countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Manage daily payroll operations, including time & attendance systems, data integrity, and automation.
  • Develop and enhance payroll processes aligned with global strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, statutory obligations, and company policies.
  • Oversee payroll audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and train teams accordingly.
  • Serve as the key contact for Sarbanes-Oxley (SoX) compliance and local controls.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to compliance issues.
  • Support payroll integration for acquisitions and transitions.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs, providing reports to leadership.
  • Manage payroll-related budgets and optimize costs.
  • Oversee external service provider contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements like gender pay gap and P11D filings.
  • Proactively resolve issues, adopting a "no surprises" approach.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline.
  • Experience in Payroll Operations and management.
  • Knowledge of Global View and/or Celergo payroll systems.
  • Understanding of European payroll processes.
  • Ability to document and improve payroll processes.
  • Experience with process improvement and managing multiple projects.
  • Background in payroll interfaces, especially SuccessFactors to Global View/Celergo.
  • Effective collaboration skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proactive approach to payroll process improvements across Europe.
  • Experience with Time and Attendance systems is a plus.

Salary: approximately £50-60,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
