This fire alarm design consultancy provides specialist design support for fire detection and alarms, voice alarms, and emergency communication systems. They are looking to recruit an experienced fire alarm systems design engineer to join their team working remotely, with an office in Central London for use when necessary.
The successful applicant will need a blend of technical and estimating expertise in fire alarm systems design, having delivered accurate designs for large-scale fire detection projects within the MEP building services sector, such as data centres, hospitals, and commercial buildings.
Key responsibilities include all facets of estimating (cost budgets, proposals, solutions), preconstruction design for fire, PA/VA, EVC (cause and effect matrix, site schematics, BS 5839 certification), and contributing to business strategy development.
Candidates will need in-depth knowledge of fire alarm, PA, VA, emergency communications, and the electrical side of suppression systems, including all relevant regulations and standards, FIA certification, and excellent knowledge of BS5839, BS6266, and EN54. Proficiency in AutoCAD, familiarity with Revit and BIM technologies, and ideally a SCSC card for site visits/surveys are required.
Attributes such as attention to detail, strong communication skills, and self-motivation are necessary. This opportunity offers a basic salary up to £65,000 plus benefits, with potential for development into a more senior role within the company.
