The role involves delivering tailored support to pupils with English as an Additional Language, focusing on reading and writing. Are you passionate about supporting young learners with English as an Additional Language (EAL)? We are seeking a dedicated and flexible EAL Teaching Assistant to work across primary schools in Cardiff, delivering tailored support to pupils in both 1:1 and small group settings.
Provide focused support in reading and writing to primary-aged pupils who speak English as an additional language
Assist in planning and delivering targeted language interventions
Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt support strategies
Build positive relationships with pupils to boost confidence and engagement
Travel to different schools within Cardiff as needed
Excellent spoken and written command of the English language
Fluency in an additional language is essential (e.g. Arabic, Urdu, Somali, Romanian, etc.)
Experience working with children in a school or educational setting preferred
Confident supporting early literacy development
Patient, compassionate, and adaptable to different learning needs and environments
Flexible working: choose between 1 to 5 days per week
A variety of placements within Cardiff, including central schools

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
