Job description

Job Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Meadow Park School

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Meadow Park School for a motivated and flexible Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our SEND and Inclusion team, a key part of our provision to support young people in school. 36% of students at Meadow Park have English as an additional language (EAL). We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with teachers and support staff, to plan and deliver effective English language support to our EAL students to speed up their acquisition of English and facilitate access to the curriculum.

You will have a passion for championing EAL students; mentor students and teach small groups, establishing productive working relationships, acting as a role model and setting high expectations to help students through a formative stage of their education.

Part-time hours will be considered to suit those with other commitments.

Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is a growing organisation, which is currently made up of seven schools across Coventry and Warwickshire, including Meadow Park School. The Primary and Secondary schools in the Trust aim to pioneer, innovate, and deliver a “World Class” education for all.

At Meadow Park School, we are committed to nurturing excellence, growing aspiration, and thriving together. The school strives to achieve excellent outcomes for young people and provides opportunities for creativity, innovation, and enjoyment in learning.

Meadow Park was recently inspected by Ofsted and graded ‘Good’ for Attitude to Learning, Personal Development, and Leadership (January 2024). The Lead Inspector noted that:

  • Pupils, parents, and staff describe significant improvements since the new headteacher's arrival;
  • There is a clear and ambitious vision from all leaders to improve educational quality;
  • The school is welcoming, caring, and compassionate.

The successful candidate must be:

  • Committed to making a positive difference to students and staff;
  • Resilient with a strong personal drive;
  • Passionate about providing productive learning opportunities for students with EAL needs;
  • Values-driven, dedicated to “Thrive Together”.

We offer:

  • A positive, innovative learning culture with effective wellbeing and workload management;
  • A dedicated, skilled, and committed staff with high expectations;
  • A strong community and a welcoming workplace;
  • Opportunities to collaborate across the MAT to develop best practices;
  • A modern building with excellent facilities, including two minibuses for fixtures and tournaments, located conveniently near the M40/M6 corridor.

If you are looking for your next challenge and wish to support colleagues in school improvement, this could be the perfect role for you!
